Canceling Your Subscription

Canceling Your Subscription

This article explains how to cancel your PulseAPI subscription and what happens to your account and data when you do.

Before You Cancel

Consider whether you want to:

  • Downgrade to Free — Your account stays active with 10 monitors, 7-day history, and email-only notifications. This is usually the right choice if you want to keep access to your data but don't need the paid features.
  • Cancel entirely — Your account is deactivated. This is appropriate if you no longer need PulseAPI at all.

If you're canceling because of a specific problem, contact support — we may be able to help.

How to Cancel

  1. In the left sidebar, click Settings.
  2. Click the Billing tab.
  3. Click Cancel Subscription (or Manage Plan).
  4. Follow the cancellation prompts.

If you have trouble finding the cancellation option, contact support and we'll cancel it for you.

What Happens After Cancellation

At end of billing period:

  • Your paid plan features remain active until the end of the current billing period (you've already paid for this period)
  • After expiry, your account downgrades to the Free plan automatically

On the Free plan after downgrade:

  • Monitors beyond the Free plan limit (10) are paused — not deleted. You can delete extras to bring yourself under the limit.
  • Team members beyond the Free plan limit (1) retain read-only access until you remove them, but new invitations are blocked
  • Check history beyond 7 days is deleted
  • Slack and webhook notification channels are deactivated
  • API keys continue to exist but API access is disabled

Data export: We recommend exporting your check history and incident data before canceling if you need it. Contact support for a data export request.

Warning: Check history older than 7 days is deleted when you downgrade. This deletion is irreversible.

Reactivating a Cancelled Subscription

You can reactivate at any time by upgrading from Settings → Billing or the pricing page. Your monitors, rules, and channels are preserved during the downgrade period.
