Deleting a monitor permanently removes it and all of its associated data from PulseAPI. This action is irreversible.
Before You Delete
Consider whether pausing the monitor is a better option:
- Pause — stops checks temporarily; you can resume later; all historical data is preserved
- Delete — permanently removes the monitor, all check history, and all associated incidents
Delete a monitor only when you're certain you no longer need it and don't need its historical data.
Warning: Deleting a monitor permanently deletes all check history and incident records associated with it. This cannot be undone.
How to Delete a Monitor
- In the left sidebar, click Monitors.
- Click the monitor you want to delete to open its detail page.
- Click the ... menu (top-right corner) and select Delete Monitor.
- A confirmation dialog appears listing the monitor name and warning about data deletion.
- Type the monitor name to confirm (or click Confirm Delete if no confirmation text is required).
- Click Delete.
The monitor is removed from your list immediately.
What Gets Deleted
When you delete a monitor, PulseAPI permanently deletes:
- The monitor configuration (URL, method, headers, authentication, etc.)
- All check history
- All incidents associated with this monitor (open, acknowledged, and resolved)
- Any alert rules that are scoped exclusively to this monitor (team-wide rules are not affected)
